My Mission

Train with Alana: Lift with Purpose

Over the last 12 years in the health and fitness industry, I've excelled as a Certified Women's Health Coach, Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Crossfit and Physique Competitor, and High School Physical Education Teacher.

 

All of these experiences have given me valuable knowledge, insights, and skills to empower women to become healthier, happier, and more confident in their bodies. I understand the unique complexities that women face, from unhealthy relationships with food, to time constraints, family obligations and the pressures of unrealistic body standards; these challenges can often stand in the way of our well-being. 

This is why I’ve created Train with Alana, a sustainable lifestyle system to help women achieve their optimal health and physique without any deprivation or extremes.  No more drastic calorie restrictions, endless hours of cardio, or demonizing carbs; these protocols work against women. 

My 1:1 coaching system focuses on providing women with the resources and support they need to empower themselves to make healthful and sustainable lifestyle choices. My mission is to guide women to a place of confidence and independence, where they can continue to live a life full of vitality and healthy choices long after our journey together.

  • I prefer working out at home. Do you offer programs that are suitable for at-home workouts with minimal equipment?
    Yes! I design each customized training plan to suit the needs of every client. Your program will be catered to whatever equipment you have, and can be programmed completely equipment free as well.
  • I struggle with accountability and motivation. How will your coaching keep me on track?
    Yes, I limit the number of clients I take on with my 1:1 Coaching System to ensure each client receives the individual support they need. In addition to our weekly video call check ins, you will also have access to message me throughout the week via Whatsapp. I'll send you your weekly nutrition and training programs for the week, along with a video recording of myself going over the program for that week so you’re very clear about what you need to prepare for going into your week.
  • I don't like weighing myself. How will we track my progress?
    Check your fear of weekly weigh-ins at the door! The scale isn't always the best tool to track your progress. You will have the choice to measure your progress through photos, or a measurement tool of your choice such as measuring tape, calipers, or an item of clothing. For your strength based goals, we will complete periodic strength testing, and for your overall health goals we will use a personalized lifestyle tracking system.
  • I have an injury. Can I still do the program?
    Yes. In our initial consultation, we will discuss your health, exercise history, lifestyle, and pertinent medical history. Movement screens will be conducted so I can access your mobility, stability, posture, physical limitations and injury. The results from this assessment, in conjunction with clearance from your medical practitioner will allow me to develop a customized training program that will help you reach your goals.
  • I don’t have time to cook, can my program be tailored to eating out or ordering a meal plan service?
    Yes, of course. I can recommend a meal plan service and help you order your meals so they correspond with your daily macronutrient requirements. I can also help you select meals from the restaurants you like to eat at that fit within your program. Lastly, I’ll share easy to make ‘no cooking required’ style snacks to fill in the gaps for you during the day.
  • I’m vegan, are you able to program a nutrition plan that works with my dietary restrictions?
    Yes, with your customized nutrition plan, you'll receive a wide variety of options based on your dietary needs, and food preferences. During our initial consultation, you can share all your food choices with me and your nutrition plan will be fully customized to your needs.
  • Why are the 1:1 Coaching Programs a minimum two-month commitment period? Can I do a shorter commitment period?
    No, the minimum two-month commitment is to ensure we have sufficient time to develop new habits, adapt to the new lifestyle changes, and for you to gain the knowledge and skills you’ll need to sustain your new lifestyle habits. I don’t believe in ‘quick fixes,’ or ‘crash diets;’ they are not sustainable and more often than not result in people gaining back more weight than they had originally lost. My mission at “Train with Alana” is to equip you with the knowledge and skills you’ll need to make permanent lifestyle changes.
